And I learned that the Eiffel Tower (previous post) was indeed built in 1889 and that it is a “puddle iron lattice tower” located on the Champ de Mars. Now I have to find out what a puddle iron or puddle tower means. This is why wikipedia sucks you in and never lets you go. The article also says it’s made of pig iron. So what is pig iron? who writes this shit?
